Letter from the President
Dear Readers,
Fall can be the most beautiful time of the year at my house. The leaves change colors, the air brings a chill, and it is never too early to begin planning our holiday get-togethers. It’s also the time of year when a surprising bit of home maintenance pops up. I like to think it’s when my whole family rediscovers our house again and a transformation of our home coincides with the transformation
of Mother Nature outside.
You see, the end of summer leads us all indoors, where we find ourselves reconnecting with our four walls and daydreaming about ways to spruce the place up. And you’ll find some great tips in this issue of My Home Life to get your creative juices flowing. In the following pages, you’ll read about ways to improve your home and find some important maintenance information to safeguard your house to keep it in peak condition throughout the coming months.
Consider these articles a head start for the season, as well as good and practical advice year-round. If you’re inspecting your heater and air ducts in order to avoid those heating bills that loom ahead, if flickering lights have signaled a red alert to check your home’s wiring, or if it’s time to replace those kitchen cabinets before the holiday entertaining season, you will enjoy the information our professionals have to share. Debating getting a power generator or an air humidifier this year?
See what our experts have to say on those subjects. They will not only point out the options for fall home maintenance, but also provide a few tips on ways to ready your home should you choose to sell it.
Topping things off, we have some home gym advice for people considering their battle against the holiday bulge on the horizon. And, as always, there is an opportunity for our readers to enter our survey at the back of the magazine for a chance to win two free round-trip tickets on American Airlines.
I invite you to dive into this issue and discover ways to make your home like Mother Nature — a thing of beauty.
That’s it for now. Looking forward to that pool party tonight,
