Summer is well on its way which means more backyard barbecues and folks gathering to gab until the sun sets. Grilling has been a way of life and summer staple for generations – so get all your friends together, stick them in the backyard with a drink in one hand and shish kabob in the other! The bare bones of entertaining are space and food, you are well on your way to a fantastic meal and great get-together.
Shish Kabobs are on our list of favorites for fast, easy meals; they contain vegetables, protein, and most importantly: VARIETY! For these beautifully-packed sticks we used shrimp and chicken as our meat. Start by putting all of your ingredients into a bowl and mixing them around.
Then poke the pieces onto your skewers!
**NOTE: putting both the shrimp and chicken on one skewer flavored each meat a little strange. We recommend shrimp and lemon wedges alternated (the lemon gives a GREAT flavor). On the other sticks we used chicken, red and green bell peppers, onions, and bacon.
These provide tons of food and are perfect for entertaining. Enjoy!
