Avoid Cross-contamination in the Kitchen

Cross-contamination is a serious hazard when dealing with meat or poultry. Consuming raw meat is extremely dangerous and even deadly. To prevent cross-contamination from occurring, always have two cutting boards on hand. One for vegetables and the other for meat and poultry. It is also important to have two different knives. Finally, wash your hands with warm water and soap, rubbing vigorously, after touching any raw poultry. Also make sure to properly wash all kitchen utensils that have touched the raw meat.
