Hydroelectricity Can Provide Safety
The damns used to house the turbines and generators and generate the water flow create lakes. The most notable in the United States would be the formation of Lake Mead due to the Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam provides a majority of the electricity to light up the Las Vegas Strip. Dams provide not only power, but also flood control as well. Since the creation of a dam on the Yangtse River in China, deaths due to flooding are down dramatically.
