Portable Generators and Electrocution

Electrocution is another hazard associated with portable generators.  In order to avoid electrocution, you should plug individual appliances into the generator using heavy duty, outdoor rated cords with a wire gauge adequate for the appliance load.   Furthermore, do not plug the generator into a wall outlet.  If the generator must be connected to house wiring, have a certified electrician hook up the standby electrical system.
