Keeping armadillos out of your lawn and garden

Keeping armadillos out of your lawn and garden

Set traps to capture armadillos. Place near fences or storage buildings where they might burrow. Eliminate food sources that attract armadillos. Use pesticides to kill insects and pick up any fruit that drops from trees in your yard. Fill in empty burrows. Avoid touching or handling armadillos, even young ones, as they can bite and scratch and carry certain diseases, including leprosy. Always check with local and state wildlife agencies regarding wild animal trapping and relocation laws.
